Back Underwater

I was back underwater with camera in hand yesterday and was delivered 2 very good lessons, unfortunately they were lessons I should already know. Firstly I rushed my set up, forgot to set my camera to the pre-set mode and and ended up with a setting that wouldn't fire the strobe. I suppose I was lucky to set the camera up sufficiently well that it didn't leak. The second lesson was to ensure that there is no vignetting of the lens, this is where the outline of the lens can be seen in the picture when using a supplemental lens. The idea is to zoom in slightly until the outline disappears.
In my defence if the strobe had fired and lit up the picture the vignette would have been more easily spotted. next time I'll allow myself more time before AND during the dive. Luckily cropping rescued some of the picture to a small extent.
