Libbys Mallyan Spout
These are Libby's views of Mallyan Spout, predictably she has a better eye than me and of course her camera isn't 14 years old! Click on the images to enlarge them to see the effect of a long stutter opening on moving water.

Mallyan Spout
Not far form where they film Heartbeat in the village of Goathland on the North Yorkshire moors there is a small waterfall that gives a very nice hotel its name. My eldest daughter wanted to get some shots of moving water so I dragged out my old Olympus C5060 and off we trotted. This was my attempt!

Early One Morning
I'm no fan of early mornings as I've mentioned before but usually they surprise me for many reasons. Another one of Libby's pictures, EOS 100D at F10, ISO 100 and 18mm with automatic exposure.

Sunet
It was Libbys first trip out with her new tripod. Taken from the west end of Huntcliff F29, ISO 250 and a 30 second exposure time. She was aiming for movement on the sea and a blurring of the headlights and is still annoyed that other areas are blurred too. Always a next time.

Mikey
This is Mikey. That's all I need to say, other than the fact it was taken by Libby on Porthmadog beach around sunset. It was on her EOS 100D, F5 and -1.3 exposure.

Supper Moon
Taken on my phone while I was walking the dog. Its perhaps not the greatest technical photo in the world but I did manage to get a photo where lots of other better equipped photographers failed on Monday night.

Whitby
Taken by Libby with her EOS 100D. The view across the harbour was taken with -3 exposure and 28mm zoom.

Dracula
Well its obviously not a photo of Dracula himself, just his his final resting place. Perched high on Whitbys East cliff next to the abbey is Saint Hildas Church.
Taken by Libby with her Cannon EOS 100D with an exposure value of -3.
Incidentally the town hosts a very interesting Goth weekend.

Woodland
Libby took this photo while we were walking the dog in Errington Woods near new Marske in Cleveland. She always loved looking at the trees even as a baby and for that snippet I'm sure she'll kill me.
Taken again with her trusty cannon EOS 100D, ISO 400 and the exposure knocked down to -3.

Feeding Spider
Another from Libby but not sure about which species we're looking at. Anybody have any ideas?
The photo was taken using a Cannon EOS 100D on macro setting and a zoom at 55mm.

Sunset
Taken by Libby Turnbull using an Cannon EOS 100D set at ISO 800, f5.6 and 18mm zoom.
Luckily Libs window usually has a good view of the setting sun but it proves you don't need to go far for a photo you just need to seize the opportunities.

Staithes
I finally got a photographic dip with my new camera. I used my Olympus 5060 on full auto and an Ikelite DS 51 strobe set to TTL.

Greenends Gulley, Eyemouth
My more capable camera let me down (again!) so it was down to my faithful Olympus 1030 and Sea and Sea strobe. A recurring problem is that the cameras own strobe illuminates the particles in front of the lens by passing through the polycarbonate housing and causing backscatter. The external strobe is on a short flexi arm and hence quite close to the lens thus exacerbating the backscatter. The best shots of the day were close to the surface with the strobe turned off and plenty of ambient light. I should have turned the shoot mode to macro to sharpen the image. You live and learn.

Capenwray
I visited the inland dive site with my eldest daughter today. The camera is our trusted Olympus 10.1 mp camera with a Sea and Sea digital strobe. Because the strobe is quite close to the lens and the camera strobe (which slaves the external strobe via a fibre optic connection) illuminates through the polycarbonate housing back scatter is always a problem. I tried to eliminate this by shooting towards the light without the strobe when I could.

Ellerton Park
Taken today with my youngest daughter. Its not always about skill or expensive equipment, sometimes its just about getting into a position that most other people can't or don't want to get into.

Silver Lining
Its been a funny old day of bad , ugly and finally good! I spotted this rainbow and snapped it with my Samsung S5. Was a bright end to the day while walking with one of my daughters and the dogs.

Duck Dive
Armed with my trusty 35mm Sea and Sea camera I was mooching around on the bottom at around 5m when my boatman decided to come and see me. We were off Huntcliff near Saltburn.

Sun Burst
I took these photos with a Sea and Sea 35mm Exlorer and strobe. Although not technically great pictures its a scene not many people will see for themselves.
I'm not sure wiich one I prefer and to be honest I was just glad they turned out.

Good Morning
The advantage with modern mobile phones is that I usually have a reasonable camera in my pocket. I was walking the dog a few weeks ago before work and had the privilege of watching a brand new day beginning.
